## Description

Usibelli Coal Mine (UCM), founded in 1943, has become the largest coal mining operation in Alaska. With a dedication to cleaner energy and a brighter future, UCM utilizes state-of-the-art engineering and the most modern mining equipment to supply coal to six Alaska power plants and export coal to various destinations including Chile, South Korea, and the Pacific Rim. Located in the stunning mountains of the Alaska Range near Healy, UCM operates year-round and currently employs approximately 115 skilled workers. Since its inception, UCM has seen remarkable growth, with mine production increasing from 10,000 tons in 1943 to an impressive average of 1.2-2 million tons of coal per year. As the only active coal mine in Alaska, UCM is proud to support the local community through sponsorships of events and activities. Committed to making a difference beyond mining, Usibelli Foundation, supported by UCM, provides scholarships and grants to over 100 organizations annually. With its exceptional dedication to clean energy, community involvement, and high-quality coal production, Usibelli Coal Mine is a leading force in the industry.
