## Description

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) is the federally chartered nonprofit that serves as the National Olympic Committee and National Paralympic Committee for the United States. Founded in 1894 and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, it supports and empowers American athletes and fields U.S. teams for the Olympic, Paralympic, Youth Olympic, Pan American and Parapan American Games. The USOPC also serves as steward of the Olympic and Paralympic movements in the United States.

Its athlete and sport support includes performance grants and rewards, training facilities, sports medicine and science, coaching education, health insurance, education and career services, promotional opportunities, outfitting and travel, and safe sport and anti-doping programming. The committee works with National Governing Bodies to advance sport, talent development and athlete well-being, and provides resources such as athlete safety guidance, mental health support, benefits information and an athlete ombuds service. Through the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation, it invites public donations to support Team USA athletes.
