U. S. Preventive Services is a brand that aims to enhance the quality, appropriateness, and effectiveness of healthcare services and access to such services.

They achieve this through the work of the U. S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), an independent body of experts in prevention and evidence-based medicine.

The USPSTF makes evidence-based recommendations about the effectiveness of clinical preventive services and health promotion to improve the health of all Americans. They provide recommendations for adults and children, including screening tests, counseling services, and preventive medications. These recommendations are based on comprehensive reviews of available medical evidence.

U. S. Preventive Services offers the opportunity for interested individuals to nominate themselves or others who are qualified to serve as members of the USPSTF.

Members meet three times a year to prioritize topics, design research plans, review evidence reviews, discuss and make recommendations, and draft final recommendation documents. It's a voluntary role that requires approximately 250 hours per year
