## Description

The US Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR) plays a crucial role in orchestrating recovery efforts resulting from the devastating 2017 hurricanes, Irma and Maria, and other disasters. As a part of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority, the ODR is focused on managing and overseeing over $20 billion in federal funding aimed at supporting the territory’s reconstruction and recovery. The office emphasizes collaboration among various governmental departments, agencies, and nonprofit organizations to enhance efficiency and integration in recovery projects.

The ODR is responsible for monitoring federal funding obligations and expenditures, ensuring compliance and transparency throughout the recovery process. They develop master project timelines, assess project progress, and provide detailed disaster reports. Additionally, ODR offers programs aimed at building financial and performance management capabilities across recipient agencies. Their commitment to facilitating smooth recovery operations is evident in their organization of community events and ongoing communication through multiple channels, including a dedicated news and reports section for updates on recovery efforts.
