Urban-Think Tank (U–TT) Design Group is an international design studio that seamlessly integrates design, architecture, and the performing arts with a focus on social change. Founded in 1998 by Alfredo Brillembourg in Caracas, Venezuela, U–TT has since expanded its reach and established a global presence. U–TT's approach centers on bridging academia and practice to deliver innovative and practical solutions to real-world problems. Their team of specialists, including architects, civil engineers, environmental planners, landscape architects, urban sociologists, and communication experts, collaboratively explore and respond to people's needs in a holistic and human-centered manner. Under the leadership of Brillembourg, U–TT has grown through numerous partnerships, establishing branches worldwide. These include the New York branch Urban-Think Tank Design Partners, U–TT/Sao Paulo in Brazil, an office in Cape Town, South Africa, and U–TT Oslo in Norway. Their projects range from building music schools and Empower Shack housing to advancing solar energy solutions. In addition to their built work, U–TT is committed to raising awareness about inequality and the politics of design through various mediums, including publishing books and producing award-winning films. Currently, they are set to release a new full-feature documentary film through their production company, Grand Horizonte Media Gmb. U–TT is driven by the ambition to create positive change in every project they undertake.
