The University of Wyoming-National Park Service (UW-NPS) Research Station is a renowned cooperative effort between the University of Wyoming and the National Park Service. With a history spanning 65 years, we are one of the nine field stations located within the US National Parks. Our mission is to foster stewardship of Wyoming's iconic landscapes by advancing knowledge, enhancing learning experiences, and promoting cooperation among communities.

We provide unique opportunities for scholars to conduct research in Wyoming's breathtaking landscapes, allowing them to push the boundaries of knowledge. Additionally, we offer place-based learning experiences for UW students, community scholars, and the public, allowing them to connect with the environment on a deeper level. Our partnerships with the National Park Service and others enable us to offer research, scholarship, creative and cultural activities, and courses that focus on Wyoming's ecosystems, Native American culture, and heritage.
