Hastings Street, where it stands today as the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS). For over 50 years, VAFCS has been dedicated to providing quality programs and services to Vancouver's urban Indigenous community. Their mission is to empower self-reliance, responsibility, success, and prosperity for all urban Aboriginal individuals, families, and communities.

The centre offers a range of programs and services to meet the diverse needs of its community members. These include health and welfare programs, social services, human rights initiatives, cultural activities, educational opportunities, recreational activities, and equal support for all genders and age groups within the Aboriginal community. In addition to these services, VAFCS also provides rentals for various events and hosts community gatherings and celebrations.

They are committed to building a supportive and inclusive environment for all Indigenous peoples living in Vancouver and beyond. History-wise, VAFCS has a rich background. It was established in 1954 as the Coqualeetza Fellowship Club, and in 1963, it officially incorporated as the Vancouver Indian Centre Society.

The centre has since evolved and expanded to better serve the needs of the Indigenous community. Today, VAFCS continues to play a vital role in the lives of Vancouver's urban Aboriginal population, offering essential programs, services, and resources for a strong and thriving community
