## Description

Valar Group is a cryptography research and engineering lab focused on developing the Zcash protocol for private, post-quantum digital cash at scale. Its work centers on building what it describes as the rails of freedom: infrastructure for digital money designed to protect personal control and financial privacy. The group presents Zcash as “freedom money” with three defining qualities. It is intended to be unseizable, reflecting the principle that what belongs to a person should remain theirs; encrypted, so financial information stays private; and spendable, so users can access and use their cash. These principles frame Valar Group’s approach to protocol development and its emphasis on practical, privacy-preserving digital payments. The website highlights the organization’s work and team, and provides links to its X and GitHub profiles for further information and engagement. Valar Group’s stated mission brings cryptography research and engineering together in support of a digital cash system that aims to combine privacy, user control, resilience against seizure, and everyday usability, while preparing for a post-quantum future.
