To be eligible for the grant, applicants must be a majority Latinx-owned business that is incorporated and operating in the United States. The business must be in the beauty/wellness space, with clean and/or sustainable products. DTC or limited distribution and availability to attend Pitch Day are also required. The selection process involves a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as brand mission, vision, impact, innovation, and business plan. The finalists will have the opportunity to present their businesses to the judges, with the winner being announced on June 23rd, 2023. In addition to the cash grant, the grand prize winner will also receive consulting and resources worth $200,000+, including strategy and brand building services, public relations support, and marketing assistance. The judges for this competition include esteemed beauty industry professionals such as Margarita Arriagada, the Founder & CEO of Valdé Beauty, and Sharon Chuter, the CEO & Creative Director of UOMA Beauty. Valdebeauty.eth aims to uplift Latinx beauty entrepreneurs and create a more diverse and inclusive beauty industry through their initiatives and support.
