## Description

Valérie Buffetaud is a Paris-based painter born in 1962. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, she also studied plastic arts and art history. Her long-standing interest in images began with photography; as a student, she worked in the archives of the Rapho photo agency. She later studied ceramics at the art institute in Faenza and lived in Tuscany for fifteen years, experiences that, alongside her travels, inform her artistic practice.

Buffetaud creates paintings, drawings, prints and works on paper, including paintings made on nautical charts. Her portfolio also includes the series Percorsi. Alongside her studio work, she takes part in performances that bring painting together with music and poetry, and offers workshops. She has exhibited individually and collectively across Europe, participated in international symposiums and regularly shown at international contemporary art fairs. Her work is held in private collections in Europe, the United States, Japan and Australia. She is represented by Immaginaria Arti Visive Gallery in Florence.
