## Description

Valerie House is a registered, faith-based nonprofit organization in South Africa, founded by gender-based violence survivor Valerie Mahlatsi. It provides a safe haven for women and children affected by abuse, with a mission to help survivors heal, build confidence, and break the cycle of violence. Its services include shelter and trauma support for adult women fleeing gender-based violence, care for abandoned or abused children and children whose mothers are staying at the shelter, and specialized support for teenage girls affected by abuse, abandonment, or exploitation. Valerie House also offers professional psychosocial counseling and mentorship to survivors. Beyond direct care, the organization runs educational workshops and community outreach to raise awareness and help prevent gender-based violence. Its relief programs distribute comfort packs, food hampers, and essential items to families in need. Valerie House invites people to support its work through donations, volunteering, partnerships, and community involvement. Based in Mooinooi, the organization works to create a world where every woman and child is valued, protected, and empowered.
