About

Description

VALID (The Vegreville Association for Living in Dignity) has a deep-rooted history of providing essential services and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in Vegreville and the surrounding areas. It all began in 1959 when Dr. Ross Cairns, along with concerned parents, recognized the need for a special school for handicapped children.

From operating a small classroom in the Beaver Bennet Scout Hut to building the Dr. Cairns School in 1963, the organization has continuously expanded its services. VALID offers a range of programs and residential services to meet the diverse needs of its community members.

These include sheltered workshops, vocational training centers, and residential homes for both children and adults. Additionally, VALID provides valuable services such as in-home care, family support, and early intervention programs. The organization is also involved in community initiatives like the Vegreville and District Recycling Depot.

With a commitment to quality services and a focus on living in dignity, VALID has been accredited and certified by esteemed organizations. Through its dedicated efforts, VALID continues to make a positive impact and improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities
