## Description

Valley Aikido is a martial arts dojo in Northampton, Massachusetts, founded in 1985 and building on local Aikido roots dating to 1969. Aikido, developed in the early 20th century by Morihei Ueshiba, emphasizes controlling aggression without causing injury. The dojo is affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation, which connects it to Aikido world headquarters in Japan.

Valley Aikido offers classes six days a week for students aged five and up. Programs include adult beginner and mixed-level classes, youth classes, and weapons training. Training is intended to support physical benefits such as balance, flexibility, and strength, as well as awareness, concentration, and self-confidence. Newcomers can attend their first class for free or observe a class before participating; no advance call is required, and visitors are asked to arrive ten minutes before class. The dojo is located at 15 Merrick Lane in Northampton. Class schedules and announcements are shared through its website and social media, and the dojo can be contacted by phone or through its online contact form.
