## Description

Descendants of Valley Forge is a brand that encompasses the Society of the Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge (DVF), a non-profit volunteer service organization dedicated to preserving the memory of the men and women who entered the camp at Valley Forge during the American Revolution. This historical and genealogical organization requires its members to prove descent from a person who spent time at Valley Forge between December 19, 1777, and June 19, 1778. Founded in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, on March 25, 1976, the DVF aims to honor the brave soldiers who endured the harsh winter at Valley Forge. They offer various activities and events, including the annual Encampment, where members gather to celebrate the year's achievements and explore Valley Forge National Historical Park. Additionally, the DVF awards college scholarships, presents history awards to local students, and contributes to the Valley Forge Park Alliance. Membership is open to anyone of any age who can demonstrate lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution who wintered at Valley Forge. Join Descendants of Valley Forge in honoring our patriots and keeping the memory of the Valley Forge Encampment alive. Huzzah!.
