## Description

Founded in 1931, the Vancouver Art Gallery is Western Canada's largest public art museum, located on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations. With a mission to create paths to share perspectives, build communities, and shape our collective future through art, the gallery offers a diverse range of exhibitions and programs. Visitors can explore both historical and contemporary art from British Columbia and around the world. The gallery houses a permanent collection of over 12,600 works, providing a comprehensive resource for visual culture in the region. Additionally, they regularly feature highlights from their collection in temporary thematic exhibitions. Committed to inclusivity, the Vancouver Art Gallery serves a broad public across the region. They offer online and in-person programs that cater to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. As a not-for-profit organization, the gallery is supported by its members, individual donors, corporate funders, foundations, and government entities. By providing equitable access, fostering inclusivity, and supporting diversity, the Vancouver Art Gallery strives to create a respectful and vibrant environment where all voices are heard, valued, and represented.
