## Description

Varbergs Aikidoklubb is a community martial arts club in Varberg, Sweden, welcoming newcomers to study traditional Japanese aikido in a non-competitive setting. Its training focuses on concentration, mobility, body control, falling skills and practical self-defence, using a partner’s movement and energy rather than meeting force with force. Members practise unarmed techniques as well as weapons work with wooden swords and staffs. Classes are held at Håstensskolan’s sports hall and are open to women and men, with groups for children, teenagers and adults; adult training is available from age 15. The club’s youth programme follows Happy Aikido, combining technique and breakfall practice with games and activities that encourage coordination, strength, flexibility and enjoyment of movement. It also supports camps, inter-club activities and leadership development for young members, and helps organise the annual Happy Aikido Summer Camp in Halland. Prospective members can attend free trial sessions at the start of a term.
