# Varenius - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `varenius.nl` ## Description Bureau Varenius is a research and publishing bureau specializing in the geography and cultural history of the Netherlands, with much of its work focused on the country’s northern and eastern regions. Operating under the Varenius name since 1989, the bureau draws on more than three decades of experience in cultural-historical research. Its work includes books, source publications, and articles, several of which have received awards. Varenius also conducts academically grounded, policy-oriented research commissioned by public authorities. The bureau’s publications and projects explore regional history, landscapes, and places. Its website presents selected projects and published work, including online access to some books that are no longer available for sale, as well as articles previously published in regional and professional journals. The site also links to Varenius’s contributions to Noorderbreedte, a magazine focused on the northern Netherlands. Named after the seventeenth-century geographer Bernhard Varenius, the bureau reflects its commitment to geographic inquiry and the diverse perspectives the discipline offers. Varenius is based in Leeuwarden and welcomes inquiries through its contact channels. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 History _(under Science and Education)_ - 🧪 Social Sciences _(under Science and Education)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idOKUZBNQ_/w/350/h/90/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793748328123) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Chambray | #3f589b | accent | | Mine Shaft | #333333 | dark | | White | #ffffff | light | ## Fonts - Geneva — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
