About
Description
Volunteers for Community Impact (VCI) is a brand that strives to make a lasting impact on local communities in Central Florida. Formerly known as Florida Senior Programs, Inc. (FSP) and funded by ACTION, VCI was established in 1974.
Over the years, VCI has expanded its programs to include the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP), the Senior Companion Program, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and the Cyber-Seniors program. VCI's mission is to build relationships that add value to the community by utilizing the experience and dedication of caring individuals through high-impact service. Their programs focus on providing mentoring, tutoring, skill-building, and technical skills to older adults and underserved preschool children.
They also collaborate with the Girl Scouts of Citrus Council to create girl scout troops in low-income areas. In addition, VCI introduced the GOAL Program and OTTER Program in 2020. The GOAL Program aims to empower young girls in Central Florida, while the OTTER Program focuses on introducing young children to the joys of reading.
VCI continuously seeks to expand its initiatives and create positive change in Central Florida communities
