The Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics (VCTM) is the leading community of educators, dedicated to promoting equitable mathematics learning in Virginia. Supporting teachers at all levels, VCTM ensures that all students have access to high-quality mathematics education through leadership, professional development, and research. VCTM envisions Virginia students who are inspired by the beauty and usefulness of mathematics, empowered by the opportunities it presents, and prepared to excel in the evolving Digital Era. Established on March 18, 1976, VCTM has a rich history of advocating for mathematics education. Originally, membership dues for teachers were $5.00, and $2.50 for students. The executive board, comprised of elected members, leads VCTM's initiatives across various levels of education. Additionally, the organization relies on the contributions of dedicated volunteers who serve on committees, playing a vital role in advancing their mission.
