## Description

Vereinigung der Hochseesegler Berlin e.V. (VdHSSB) is a Berlin-based sailing club open to everyone, with a focus on promoting offshore sailing. Founded in 1974 by sailing instructors from TU Berlin, the club helps sailors build on their inland sailing experience and prepare for adventures at sea. Its interests extend from the Baltic and North Seas to the Mediterranean and other destinations.

VdHSSB offers opportunities for members and interested sailors to exchange experience, take part in shared sporting activities, and pursue further learning related to offshore sailing. The club meets on the first Thursday of each month and shares reports from sailing trips, including voyages in the South Pacific, Mallorca, and Croatia.

Each year, the club’s sports officer organizes at least one regatta: the Pentecost Regatta, originally known as the Fehmarn Rund. Participating boats are generally chartered, and the event welcomes both experienced crews and sailing newcomers. The club also aims to give newly trained sailors opportunities to gain offshore experience and take their first steps as skippers.
