About
Description
The Vegetarian Club of Canton (VCC), established in September 1986 by local vegetarian David Kidd, is a non-profit corporation approved by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization. Over the past 32 years, VCC has made a significant impact in Stark County, Ohio through the dedicated efforts of numerous volunteers. What sets VCC apart is its monthly meet-ups at different restaurants, where members gather to enjoy a four-course vegan meal in a banquet setting.
By showcasing delicious and high-quality vegan dishes, VCC educates restaurant owners, food service managers, chefs, and wait staff on the art of preparing and serving vegetarian meals. The club's efforts have led to over 14,000 vegan meals served and the permanent inclusion of lacto-ovo vegetarian and vegan options on local restaurant menus. In addition to its culinary focus, VCC has hosted over 280 speakers who teach the principles of healthy eating.
The club also supports two sub-groups, the Vegan Meet-up Group and the Raw Food Meet-up Group. VCC's commitment to promoting vegetarianism has been recognized through the presentation of the prestigious Golden Carrot Award to restaurants that support vegetarian efforts. With a mailing address at 5858 West Blvd NW, Canton, OH 44718, the Vegetarian Club of Canton continues to make a positive impact in the community and looks forward to a bright future
