## Description

Vella Private Limited is a Sri Lankan, family-founded group whose story began in 1971, when Mr. A. P. D. Abeyrathne purchased the Uva Halpewatte Tea Estate and Factory with his wife, Mrs. Nalini Rajapaksha. Built on a commitment to quality, integrity, and vision, the business has since expanded beyond tea into leisure and adventure, developing a portfolio of sectors rooted in creating distinctive experiences. In tea, Vella’s origins remain closely tied to its estate and factory heritage. Its leisure offerings invite visitors to explore experiences in Sri Lanka, while its adventure sector adds another dimension to the group’s activities. Vella describes its work as crafting unique experiences from Sri Lanka to the world. The company has received national and international awards recognizing excellence in service and innovation across its hospitality, adventure, and tea sectors. Vella also maintains the Vella Foundation as part of its broader organization. Its head office is located on Flower Road in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
