James Kolar is an independent publishing house named Ventus Publishing, founded in 2011 by A. James Kolar. Driven by his passion for truth-seeking and a desire to break free from editorial restrictions, Kolar established Ventus Publishing as a platform to release works of true crime and fiction.

While currently not accepting submissions for manuscripts, Ventus Publishing plans to unveil a range of captivating publications in the near future. James Kolar's law enforcement career spans over 40 years, starting with the Boulder, Colorado Police Department. Throughout his tenure, he held various roles, including detective, patrol officer, and supervisor of specialized units.

His commendable investigative work on national narco-trafficking cases led to an official recognition from the Denver U. S. Attorney’s Office Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

Kolar also contributed to SWAT teams, coordinated gang units, and trained officers nationwide. Kolar's dedication to justice prompted his involvement in the JonBenét Ramsey murder investigation. Troubled by the decision to ignore crucial leads, he resigned from the Boulder County District Attorney's Office.

Currently, Kolar serves as the chief of the Telluride Marshal’s Department, all the while nurturing his love for sailing alongside his family
