## Description

Vesterbro Kung Fu is a martial arts and self-defence club based on Vesterbrogade in Copenhagen, Denmark. It presents Kung Fu as accessible to people of different ages, genders, physiques and experience levels, with no requirement to be young, fit or previously trained. The club’s training aims to build fitness, inner calm and personal resources while teaching natural reflexes for controlled use in self-defence situations.

Training is offered for children aged 7–12, teenagers and adults, with classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The school also welcomes experienced martial artists seeking to broaden their practice. Its curriculum covers techniques at different ranges and levels, including strikes, kicks, locks, throws and ground fighting. For dedicated students, training includes forms, double knives, the six-and-a-half-foot long pole, wooden dummy work, sparring and physically demanding practice.

Vesterbro Kung Fu describes its approach as rooted in Chan Buddhist traditions and emphasizes respect, honour, courage, self-awareness, openness and friendliness. The club also fosters a Kung Fu family connecting members in Denmark and beyond.
