## Description

Vestingeiland is an annual hut-building camp for children aged 8 to 12 from Naarden and the surrounding area. It is organised by volunteers from Stichting Vestingeiland Naarden, creating a summer programme where children can take part in activities and build huts together. The 2026 camp ran over two weeks in August, with separate Monday-to-Friday sessions. Families can find information about the programme, location and parking, the camp’s history, and frequently asked questions on the organisation’s website. The site also provides registration details, including how to form a group and the applicable procedures and conditions; registration for Vestingeiland 2027 is scheduled to open on 1 April 2027. More than 40 volunteers help organise the event each year, and young people aged 15 and over can apply to join the leadership team. Vestingeiland also shares news, event photographs, information for sponsors, and updates about found property after the camp. The organisation welcomes enquiries by email and through its contact page.
