Veterans Transition House (VTH) is a nonprofit organization based in New Bedford, MA that provides shelter and services to homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in Southeastern Massachusetts. Founded in 1990 by Vietnam veterans and community leaders, VTH is dedicated to offering housing and supportive services for veterans in need. At VTH, our primary focus is on healing from substance abuse and helping veterans learn new life skills.

We believe in providing a hand up, not a handout, to each veteran we serve. Our goal is to rehabilitate, promote self-sufficiency, and reintegrate veterans into the community. In addition to shelter, we offer a range of supportive services and programs.

This includes our Anthony C. Alfiero Outreach Center, which provides comprehensive assistance and resources. We also have an application process for services, as well as ongoing capital campaigns and campus construction to further expand our impact.
