## Description

Vilken art? is a Swedish online identification resource for butterflies and other invertebrate groups. Its main focus is on identifying day- and night-flying butterflies in Sweden, with reviewed and comprehensive information also available for mayflies, caddisflies, dragonflies, and lacewings. The site includes beta sections for numerous additional groups, which it notes should be used with caution because their images may not yet be fully reviewed.

Visitors can search or browse using Swedish and scientific names, including synonyms, and narrow results by features such as wingspan, month, region, host plant, or words in species descriptions. Species pages provide details including flight periods, distribution, host plants, synonyms, and links to other sources. Comparisons highlight similar species and help users distinguish those that may be confused, while photographs and overview pages support identification across taxonomic groups.

The website also offers quizzes, species lists, news, statistics, and guidance for using its tools. Users can contribute identification text and photographs, including images previously uploaded to Artportalen; photographers retain copyright.
