## Description

Villa Zus is a small, welcoming residential initiative in Heijen, the Netherlands, created by sisters Anne and Dieke Robesin. Inspired by their family experience, including growing up with a sister who has Down syndrome, they established a home for adults with intellectual disabilities. The residence offers places for eight people, with each resident having a private bedroom and bathroom. Villa Zus emphasizes a safe, loving environment where residents’ wishes and needs guide daily support.

Residents are supported by a small, consistent team, with individual guidance arranged to suit each person. The initiative is intended for people aged 18 and over who have a ZZP 4 care indication and a WAJONG benefit. Villa Zus also describes its intended residents as being at a similar level of functioning and states that it is not suited to people with a history of aggressive behavior.
