## Description

Violetta – La forza delle donne is a volunteer organisation inspired by Violetta, the Mugnaia of Ivrea’s Historic Carnival, a figure associated with freedom, dignity and resistance to oppression. Founded in the wake of the “Progetto Violetta,” the organisation works to promote the prevention of gender-based violence and provide practical support to women experiencing abuse.

Its services include a telephone listening and welcome line, psychological counselling and psychotherapy, legal advice, support for parents, and help addressing trauma and traumatic experiences. Violetta also encourages connection among local services and organisations, helping build a network of support. Through prevention and awareness initiatives, it works with secondary schools, primary schools and early childhood settings, and shares reflections, events and educational activities with the wider community.

Based in the Canavese area, Violetta draws on the symbolic strength of the Historic Carnival of Ivrea to foster courage, freedom and emancipation. People can support its work by becoming members, donating, purchasing branded items or contributing through Italy’s 5×1000 tax allocation.
