## Description

Virtual Lane is a Dutch mobility technology brand developing virtual reality driving simulators for driving schools. Its goal is to make driver education more efficient, safe and sustainable by giving learners a way to practise vehicle control and traffic skills in a realistic virtual environment before or alongside lessons in a car. The simulator supports exercises ranging from starting, shifting and parking to motorway driving, adverse weather, darkness and unexpected hazards. Learners can repeat scenarios at their own pace, while an AI-powered virtual coach guides independent practice. After a session, learners receive a personal analysis based on their actions, observation and responses to traffic situations, giving instructors useful insight into progress and areas for development.

Virtual Lane’s first complete simulator is being tested in driving-school pilots, where learner and instructor feedback informs improvements to the planned VL1 system. The company says simulator training can reduce fuel use, vehicle wear and maintenance, ease pressure on instructors, and lower variable costs per learner.
