Since its establishment in 1975, VisionGift has facilitated thousands of corneal transplants and made significant advancements in ocular research, giving recipients the gift of renewed vision and hope for their future. They work closely with donation partners to recover and screen donated tissues, providing grafts for individuals in Oregon and southwest Washington. Additionally, they send tissues across the nation and worldwide to meet further needs.

VisionGift honors and serves the courageous donors and their families through projects like the 'Trees of Remembrance' and 'Threads of Life' quilts. They also facilitate anonymous correspondence between donor families and grateful recipients, offering comfort to donor families. Furthermore, VisionGift actively engages in ocular research initiatives, both within their own Vision Research Laboratory and by providing tissues to external research facilities.
