## Description

Vancouver Lake Sailing Club is a family-oriented sailing organization formed in 1967 to promote one-design centerboard sailing and racing. Based at Vancouver Lake, the club offers members opportunities to learn, socialize, and take part in an active sailing community. Its fleets include Lightning, Lido, Laser, Fireball, and Sunfish boats, and its membership has included national champion sailors and US Olympic team sailors.

The club provides sailing classes for people interested in learning how to sail, with Vancouver Lake presented as a suitable setting thanks to its lack of commercial boat traffic and river current. For experienced sailors, VLSC runs a varied racing program throughout the year. Scheduled events include Spring and Fall Sunday Series, Spring, Summer, and Fall Tuesday Series, a long-distance series, and a Summer Single-handed Series. The club also hosts its annual PIYA Regatta on the second weekend after Memorial Day. Vancouver Lake Sailing Club is a member of US Sailing and the Pacific International Yachting Association, and welcomes those interested in sailing and membership.
