The Vlaamse Visveiling (VLV) is a private enterprise that operates two auctions located in the Vlaamse fishing ports of Zeebrugge and Oostende. Their mission is to bring together the demand and supply of fresh wild fish, with the goal of obtaining the best price for producers and buyers. The fish brought in is sold in real-time through an internet network that connects three auction clocks in Zeebrugge, Oostende, and Nieuwpoort.

Every year, approximately 17 million kg of fish find their way to wholesale markets and consumers across Europe. The VLV is supported by the European Food Centre (EFC), which serves as a logistics platform and consists of two clusters of fishing companies. Both clusters, located in Zeebrugge and Oostende, are focused on the development and organic growth of the local fishing industry.

These clusters comprise businesses involved in fish trading, processing, and various services that are vital for the sector.
