## Description

Võhandu Maraton is an Estonian paddling event brand built around an annual endurance race on the Võhandu River. Founded in 2006, its flagship event covers approximately 100 kilometres from Võru to Võõpsu, with a 24-hour cutoff. The marathon brings together kayaks, canoes, rafts, SUPs and other craft, welcoming both competitive paddlers and people seeking a shared outdoor challenge. The event’s appeal extends beyond racing: participants experience the river’s scenery, the physical demands of the course and the camaraderie of a large paddling community. Finishers receive a medal, and the finish area offers a place to celebrate and share stories. Alongside the main race, Võhandu Maraton offers a 45-kilometre open-course event from Paidra to Leevaku. Its website supports participants with registration, race instructions, results, maps, GPS tracking and practical information about accommodation and catering. It also lists boat and equipment rental and sales, a GPS rental service, and a shop featuring marathon merchandise. Through these events and resources, the brand connects paddling, nature and community in Estonia.
