## Description

Voices for SEND Support Network (VSN) is a UK umbrella organisation supporting families of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those affected by autism. It began with a pilot focused on the Somali community in London and has expanded its work to other marginalised and global majority communities in London and across the UK. VSN works to address cultural, linguistic and systemic barriers that can make it harder for families to access timely, appropriate support.

The network’s mission is to provide resources, advocacy and comprehensive support, raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote equitable access to culturally appropriate services. Its work includes advocating for families’ rights and needs, helping them navigate the autism and SEND landscape, and collaborating with community organisations, healthcare providers and policymakers. VSN also supports research and evidence-based approaches that are relevant to the communities it serves.

Through education, partnerships and tailored support, VSN aims to help families feel understood and empowered, and to ensure children have opportunities to reach their full potential.
