## Description

Volksfeest Linde, also known as Lindesfeest, is a long-running community celebration held in the hamlet of Linde, south of Vorden in the Netherlands. Established as an annual tradition in 1866, the festival takes place on the fourth Saturday of September and brings together residents of Linde and nearby communities, including Hengelo, Vorden and Ruurlo. Its programme combines longstanding local customs with activities for different generations. Visitors can join a cycling tour, an afternoon for older residents, a theatre evening, traditional bird shooting and bird throwing, a large tent party, and games for adults and children. The event is organized and sustained through the voluntary commitment of many people from Linde, including committee members and other supporters. The festival’s roots reach back to the local kermis, an older fair associated with the harvest. In 1866, a banner was inaugurated to add ceremony to the annual gathering. Lindesfeest continues to preserve these traditions while serving as an important social occasion that connects the surrounding communities.
