## Description

**Brand Description: VOLRISKMAC**

VOLRISKMAC is an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing research and development capabilities for volcanic activity monitoring in the Macaronesia region, which includes the islands of Madeira, Azores, and the Canary Islands. This project is part of the INTERREG V-A Spain-Portugal MAC cooperation program, which seeks to address challenges related to innovation, competitiveness, internationalization, and sustainable development in peripheral regions of Spain and Portugal. With a significant funding of over 112 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), VOLRISKMAC engages multiple institutions across the Macaronesia and nearby countries such as Cabo Verde, Senegal, and Mauritania, fostering socio-economic and cultural collaboration. Key projects under this initiative include strengthening capacities for volcanic activity monitoring and developing resilience to volcanic emergencies. The Instituto Volcanológico de Canarias (INVOLCAN) plays a pivotal role as the main beneficiary, ensuring the implementation and success of these groundbreaking programs in volcanic risk management and climate adaptation.
