We were inspired to establish Volunteer Latin America while participating in conservation projects in Costa Rica and Ecuador in 2001.

Witnessing the disparity between our financial contributions and the benefits received by other volunteers, we felt compelled to provide a more transparent and affordable solution. Our aim is to empower individuals by offering all the information they need to organize their own volunteer placement in Central or South America, ultimately saving them significant amounts of money. Unlike other placement agencies, we ensure that every penny paid by our volunteers goes directly to the host organization.
