Description
Volusia ARES is the Volusia County Amateur Radio Emergency Service. As a team of dedicated radio amateurs, they provide crucial assistance to their community during times of disaster. Their mission is to offer dependable communication support in the event of local or regional communications system outages or overloads.
Working closely with Volusia County Emergency Management and other agencies, they serve as a reliable backup until normal communications are restored. Volusia ARES is also actively involved in providing communication services for public events, including the Bike MS: PGA TOUR Cycle to Shore, and supports the National Weather Service's SKYWARN program. They are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of their community.
To stay connected and improve their skills, Volusia ARES hosts a Weekly Training Net every Sunday evening on the KV4EOC 147. 240 repeater. They can be reached at 147.
