## Description

Vale of Rheidol Railway is a historic narrow-gauge railway in Wales, established in 1897 and opened to the public in 1902. Now operated as a charitable trust, it is dedicated to preserving and improving its historic locomotives, carriages and tracks while sharing the railway’s heritage and the scenery of the Rheidol Valley. Its steam trains connect Aberystwyth and Devil’s Bridge on a 24-mile round trip through the Welsh countryside, with journeys available in standard and first class. The railway also offers season tickets, gift certificates and group visits, alongside access to the Engine Shed display at Aberystwyth Station. Visitors can explore the Engine Shed Museum, see historic locomotives, and enjoy food and drink and gift shops. For a more active outing, Rail & Trail Adventures pair a heritage train ride with guided walks in the Cambrian Mountains. The railway hosts seasonal experiences, including Ticket to Christmas, an immersive festive event featuring activities in the Engine Shed Museum.
