## Description

Votebeat is a nonprofit news organization dedicated to providing nonpartisan local reporting on elections and voting. With a mission to help people understand the intricacies of our democratic system, Votebeat focuses on covering and explaining the mechanics of voting, including early and mail-in voting, voter registration, and election security. By prioritizing local communities, Votebeat provides insightful stories that are accessible to readers and can be shared by both local and national news outlets. As a nonprofit organization, Votebeat receives support from various sources, including sponsors who contribute to sharing messages with readers and donors who believe in their mission. By addressing the growing issue of news deserts caused by the decline of local news sources, Votebeat is building a sustainable model that offers local, substantive, and independent coverage. Join Votebeat in strengthening democracy and explore their stories for a nuanced understanding of elections and voting.
