## Description

VPNAVY is a historical information resource dedicated to the men and women who have served in United States Navy antisubmarine warfare patrol aviation, past and present. Established on December 1, 1996, the site brings together information about U.S. Navy VP and VPB patrol squadrons, with pages devoted to individual squadrons. More than 200 squadrons are represented.

The collection aims to gather available material from across the Internet and share it with permission. Its content includes historical information and photographs contributed by people who have helped build the archive. VPNAVY describes these contributions as central to the breadth of its history and images.

The site serves naval aviation enthusiasts, researchers, veterans, and families seeking information about patrol squadrons and their aircraft. It also acknowledges the community’s ongoing interest, reporting 690,171 page views in September 2026. With three decades of activity marked as of December 1, 2026, VPNAVY continues to preserve and present material about the history of U.S. Navy antisubmarine patrol aviation.
