## Description

VPN Gate is a public free VPN cloud service based in Japan, developed by the University of Tsukuba. Launched in 2013, it offers users access to restricted websites, the ability to disguise their IP address for privacy, and strong encryption for protection while using public Wi-Fi. VPN Gate is powered by SoftEther VPN, a multi-protocol VPN server accessible on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. With over 16 billion cumulative connections and 658,602.19 TB of traffic, VPN Gate provides users with free access to world knowledge beyond government firewalls. The service operates through 3,467 public VPN relay servers by volunteers worldwide, offering users the ability to connect and access the servers using various VPN protocols. With an anti-abuse policy and updated logs on recent VPN activity and user countries ranking, VPN Gate prioritizes academic use while providing users with a secure and reliable VPN solution. Additional features include support for multiple languages and mail subscriptions for instant updates.
