## Description

The Vulcan Orienteering Club (VOC), based in Birmingham, Alabama, is the state's only affiliated club with Orienteering USA. With a passion for land navigation and outdoor adventure, VOC hosts monthly local orienteering meets from September through May at scenic locations such as Oak Mountain State Park and Wind Creek State Park. Participants include a diverse community of JROTC and NJROTC high school students, ROTC college students, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, adventure racers, and outdoor enthusiasts ranging from novices to seasoned orienteers.

The club employs electronic punching systems at most meets, making navigation more efficient for all participants. VOC encourages new members to join simply by participating in events, as there are no formal meetings or membership dues.
