## Description

Vuosaaren Purjehtijat (VP ry) is a sailing and boating club founded in 2002 to promote cruising, competitive sailing and boating, particularly in southeastern Helsinki. A member of the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation, the club offers sailing instruction and coaching for children and young people. Its junior activities run throughout the year, with regular time on the water from May to September, and are coordinated through the East Side Sailing Team partnership with other clubs in eastern Helsinki and Sipoo.

The club’s home harbour is in Vuosaari, where two sheltered piers provide access to electricity and water. Members can use facilities including toilets, showers, a barbecue area, a small clubhouse, a slipway and a sewage pump-out station. Berths are available for rent, and the club also offers the option to purchase a berth share. In addition to its home harbour, Vuosaaren Purjehtijat maintains a private island in the Porvoo archipelago, about ten nautical miles away, serving as a destination for members’ boating trips.
