VYCC, short for Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, is a dynamic brand that is dedicated to taking action and building community through their work and learning experiences with the land. Their mission is centered around fostering a safe and healthy environment, supporting others, creating a culture of belonging, embracing challenges, and being accountable and professional. VYCC's successful program model involves assembling small and diverse groups of young people, known as Corps Members, who work together on outdoor projects that make a difference.

These Corps Members, aged between 15 and 26, join VYCC as paid employees or AmeriCorps Members and form teams called crews. These crews engage in various project areas such as water quality, forest health, sustainable trails, and sustainable agriculture & food security. The work takes place across the state, particularly on public lands, and is supported by VYCC's 400-acre campus, which features a certified organic farm and commercial kitchen.

VYCC has been operating since 1985 and has grown from a program of the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation into a successful statewide nonprofit organization. With a network of over 130 youth corps across the U. S., VYCC alumni have gone on to become leaders in government, nonprofits, educators, environmental stewards, and active members of their communities.
