## Description

WordPress is a widely recognized brand that aims to democratize publishing by offering a platform that provides the freedom to build, change, and share. The brand's story began in 2003 when Mike Little and Matt Mullenweg created a fork of b2/cafelog, realizing the need for an elegant and well-architected personal publishing system. Today, WordPress is built on PHP and MySQL and is licensed under the GPLv2. With over 43% of all websites using WordPress, it has become the platform of choice for many. The open-source project has flourished over time, thanks to the dedicated community of developers, designers, bloggers, and others who contribute their skills and passion. WordPress caters to both tech-savvy individuals and those with limited technical knowledge, providing a user-friendly experience. The software is designed to be accessible, performant, secure, and easy to use. WordPress operates under the four core freedoms provided by the General Public License (GPLv2 or later), which include the freedom to run, study, redistribute, and distribute modified versions of the program. The brand's commitment to open-source and inclusivity is reflected in its welcoming community and the opportunities it offers to individuals to express themselves and make a difference. For anyone looking to create and share their voice, WordPress provides a powerful and customizable platform.
