## Description

WA BioZone is a University of Western Australia initiative that brings together PhD students, researchers and academics from diverse scientific and biomedical disciplines. Its student-led team aims to communicate research to the Western Australian community and foster transdisciplinary collaboration, creating opportunities to explore complex challenges from multiple perspectives.

BioZone’s activities include an annual Art-Science Exhibit during National Science Week, where members of the public can attend and submit artwork, and immersive workshops designed and delivered by BioZone PhD students for undergraduates. The program also supports collaborative research through grants available exclusively to BioZone PhD students and offers an exclusive Completion Scholarship. Its PhD training program provides another way to engage with the initiative.

PhD students can apply to join the BioZone team, help organise community events and take part in transdisciplinary research projects. Through these activities, BioZone connects research, education and public engagement, supporting the development of new perspectives and collaborative approaches to local and global challenges.
