WAGS, Inc. Their mission is to promote functional independence and improve the quality of life for people with physical disabilities through partnerships with highly-skilled service dogs. WAGS carefully selects Golden and Labrador Retrievers from trusted breeders based on health, temperament, and work drive.

These dogs are raised, socialized, and trained by volunteer trainers under the supervision of WAGS Training Director. It takes approximately two years and $12,000 to train one WAGS service dog. WAGS service dogs offer practical physical assistance by retrieving dropped items, opening and closing doors, operating light switches, and more.

They also provide unconditional love and companionship. WAGS not only provides well-trained service dogs but also offers a comprehensive follow-up program to ensure the continued success of every team. They maintain high program standards and ethics and have facilitated the partnership of more than 125 service dogs for individuals with physical disabilities.

To support their mission, WAGS depends on donations from foundations, local businesses, individuals, and is a donor designation agency with the United Way of Dane County
