Description
Workers Arts & Heritage Centre (WAHC) in Hamilton, Ontario is a community museum and arts center dedicated to celebrating and bringing together all working people, both paid and unpaid. Founded over 25 years ago, WAHC was started by a passionate group of labor historians, artists, and union and community activists who recognized the importance of a museum that could honor the history of workers and labor. Located in the heritage-listed Custom House building, WAHC offers a wide range of exhibits, workshops, educational programs, digital projects, and community events that delve into labor history, social justice, and contemporary labor issues.
The center also houses a permanent collection of artifacts related to labor history and workers' experiences. WAHC's mission is to create a stronger and more connected community by celebrating the diverse stories and ideas of working people through art, history, and culture. Their vision is to build a society where all labor matters.
With values rooted in solidarity, equity, inclusion, and dignity, WAHC invites everyone to join in their collaborative ventures. Stay updated with WAHC's activities by following them on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
